New Orleans bomb squad remove explosive device found by person mowing their property


NEW ORLEANS, La. (WDSU) — The New Orleans Police Department Bomb Squad removed an explosive device from a person’s property on Tuesday.

Police say a homeowner was mowing their vacant lot when they discovered a device appearing to be a bomb in the 1600 block N. Robertson Street.

NOPD confirmed they responded to a call of an explosive device and the bomb squad located an “IED and function.”

Police say the bomb squad successfully removed the device from the property.

There were no injuries or evacuations ordered, according to police.
