New Orleans extends fee waivers for business, restaurants ‘Pilot Parklet Program’

NEW ORLEANS, (BRPROUD)- Businesses, restaurants and bars are receiving subsequent fee waivers  for on-street parking for the Pilot Parking Program until Mar. 31, 2022. The extension includes fees waived for sidewalk cafe seating permits.

The City is working to develop a permanent parklet program.

The Pilot Parklet program was launched in 2020, and currently has 40 businesses operating a parklet space; which allows restaurants to utilize on-street parking spaces in front of the business to expand seating options, according to NOLA.

Outdoor dining spaces also increases safe dining opportunities for customers, restaurants and bars under COVID-19 mandates.
