NEW ORLEANS – The New Orleans Pelicans today announced the team’s 2020 preseason schedule. New Orleans will open preseason play with a road contest against the Miami Heat before playing its only home preseason game at the Smoothie King Center on Friday, Dec. 18 against the Milwaukee Bucks.

Broadcast information for the Pelicans’ preseason games will be available at a later date.

LDH confirms first case of U.K. COVID variant in Louisiana

BATON ROUGE, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – The Louisiana Department of Health has confirmed the state’s first identified case of the COVID-19 variant, SARS-CoV-2 B.1.1.7.

In a statement released Saturday afternoon, the LDH says the new strain, frequently referred to as the U.K. variant because it is prevalent in the United Kingdom, was confirmed in an individual in the Greater New Orleans area.
