NEW ORLEANS (BRPROUD) – On Friday, Dec. 10 the U.S Department of Justice District Court Judge for Eastern District of Louisiana Attorney Duane A. Evans announces the verdict of 39-year-old Christy Bartholomew of Hattiesburg, Mississippi, who was sentenced to 72 months in jail on two counts of bill of information wire frauds on Wednesday, Dec. 8.

According to plea documents, Bartholomew was employed as a financial controller located in Slidell, Louisiana, and later worked as an office manager for a company located in Kenner, Louisiana from 2016 to October of 2019; when she embezzled $357,000 from her Slidell employer in several schemes, including unauthorized use of a company credit card.

Plead documents also states that she later did the same thing with her Kenner employer, embezzling approximately $300,000 from November 2019 to February 2020. 

 The 39-year-old is scheduled to self-surrender in February 2022; once incarceration is completed with the Bureau of Prisons—she will be placed on three years of supervised release which includes a $200 mandatory special assessment fee and full restitution to the victims.
