A new poll released this morning show’s a shift in the Louisiana Governor’s race.
The poll shows incumbent Governor John Bel Edwards, leading his challengers with 47%. He is followed by Eddie Rispone at 23%, then Congressman Ralph Abraham at 17%. The undecided vote is at 11%.
The poll was conducted from September 24-26.
Eddie Rispone for Governor released this statement about the We Ask America poll:
This morning independent pollster, We Ask America, a nationally recognized pollster, released their second statewide survey analyzing the upcoming Louisiana Governor’s race showing Eddie Rispone continuing to surge in the polls.
This poll comes after another recently released independent poll from JMC Analytics that showed Rispone moving into second place with a three point lead over his fellow Republican challenger. The new poll shows Rispone moving up to 23% and his Republican opponent dropping to 17%.
With only one day until early voting begins, and with a comfortable lead over his Republican opponent, Rispone is the clear Republican frontrunner and is well positioned to make the runoff against Governor John Bel Edwards. It’s been made clear to voters that Rispone is the only candidate who has always supported President Trump, as well as the only conservative outsider with a proven record as a job creator.
Communications Director Anthony Ramirez added, “If it wasn’t clear earlier this week it is now – people around the state are rallying behind Eddie because he is the only candidate who has the ability to defeat John Bel Edwards in a runoff. His similarities to President Trump set him far apart from his opponents and make him the only clear choice in this years’ election. It’s time to fire John Bel Edwards so we can get our state back on track and do for Louisiana what President Trump has done for the nation.”
