ASCENSION PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) – The Ascension Parish School Board approved the process and timeline for hiring a new School Superintendent by April.
According to the timeline, candidates will be selected by March 28 and invited to engage in interviews that will take place during the first week of April.
The public is invited to follow the selection and hiring process via a special Ascension Parish Schools webpage, which can be accessed here.
Locals will also be able to complete an online survey about the leadership qualities and experience they’d like to see in a new superintendent. This survey will be open until Feb. 23.

According to the School Board’s timeline, advertisements will begin running online and in area newspapers during the week of Feb. 13. The ads will highlight the application due date of March 20, 2023.
Education leaders expect the new superintendent to begin working in July, which will follow the June 30 departure of the current Superintendent, David Alexander.
