Ochsner Baton Rouge announces the ground breaking of its newest location, a health center at 10150 Bluebonnet Blvd., near the intersection of Bluebonnet and Burbank Drive in South Baton Rouge.
Ochsner continues to enhance its health centers with the latest patient-centered features. This new health center is expected to include kiosk and mobile check-in so patients can spend more time in the exam room than the waiting room. Ochsner provides the ease of online scheduling and staff communication with patients using the MyOchsner online portal. Ochsner patients have access to digital medicine programs for high blood pressure, diabetes and pregnancy to conveniently monitor their health from home.
“We’re very excited about our new location in South Baton Rouge,” stated Eric McMillen, CEO, Ochsner Baton Rouge. “It’s located in a growing part of the city and will deliver convenient access to healthcare. We are ready to provide the innovative services at this location our community is looking for.”
This new facility, which sits on 2.1 acres, will be about 11,000 square feet. The building is designed to add an extra 8,000 square feet in the future. Plans call for 15 exam rooms for primary care and enhanced obstetrics/gynecology (OB/GYN). It will offer pelvic floor therapy and have dedicated space for both obstetricians and certified nurse midwives to offer a complement of reproductive health, preventative and well-woman services including annual exams. Lab services and OB/GYN ultrasound will be available as well for comprehensive and convenient care in one place.
GraceHebert Architects and Lincoln Builders, Inc., are the design team and general contractor, respectively. The health center, located only six miles from LSU’s campus, has an anticipated opening in the spring of 2020.
