No animals hurt in barn fire on S Tiger Bend Rd.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The St. George Fire Department was called to the scene of a barn fire around 10:30 a.m. on Thursday.

The barn fire was located at 10032 S Tiger Bend Rd.

According to the fire department, “The first unit arrived on scene at 10:37AM to find smoke coming from a barn located about 200 feet behind the residence.”

SGFD used a ladder, four engines and a tanker truck to put the fire out.

Firefighters made their way inside the barn and were able to stop the fire from damaging the roof.

It took around ten minutes for firefighters to extinguish the fire.

No animals or people were hurt in this fire.

SGFD says, “utilities were cut to the structure because of damage to the electrical system.”

The cause of the fire has not been determined and the investigation remains ongoing.
