Dat Dog: "No one asked to be in a #jeep commercial"

NEW ORLEANS, La. (BRPROUD) – A hot dog joint in the “Crescent City” sustained a lot of damage on Wednesday night.

Dat Dog is the name of the establishment and a Jeep crashed into the location on Freret St.

The New Orleans Police Department is investigating what it calls a hit-and-run vehicle crash at this location.

As you can see about half way through the attached video, a Jeep appears to veer off the road and into the Dat Dog courtyard.

The video was provided by an establishment across the street from Dat Dog.

A witness to the crash stated that about 45 seconds before the attached video begins, a group of 15 people walked by the exact spot where the Jeep runs into Dat Dog.

The crash took place at the intersection of Freret St. and Soniat St. around 9:50 p.m.

Dat Dog confirms that no one was hurt as the accident took place after the close of business.

Thursday was spent cleaning up the damage and Dat Dog is announcing that it will reopen on Friday.

This is possible because the restaurant says the building is fine. The courtyard sustained the most damage but is considered serviceable.

The investigation into the crash remains ongoing.
