BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- Louisiana Department of Health reports a continued decrease in the number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals.

The number of COVID-19 patients in hospitals dropped from 989 to 952 over the last 24 hours.

Here is a breakdown of COVID-19 statistics in Louisiana on 9/28/2021:

  • 1,048 new COVID-19 cases bringing the overall total to 739,661
  • 50 new COVID-19 deaths bringing the overall total to 13,900
  • 952 COVID-19 patients are currently in the hospital
  • 169 COVID-19 patients are currently on ventilators
