ADDIS, La. (BRPROUD) – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that took place at an apartment complex in West Baton Rouge Parish on Friday night. The Addis Police Department responded to a report of shots fired at the Sugar Mill Apartments around 5 p.m. on June 2. Officers responded to a location near building seven. At the time, Addis PD was able to find shell casing for two different firearms but no suspects or victims.
The investigation continued over the weekend and one arrest has been made in this case. Troy Ellis Mcginnis Jr, 19, was arrested and charged with obstruction of justice and criminal conspiracy. Mcginnis was subsequently booked into the West Baton Rouge Parish Jail.
Addis PD confirmed that there is another potential suspect in this shooting but they have not been arrested and will not be identified at this time.
