PORT ALLEN, La. (BRPROUD) – A Louisiana DOTD bridge crew is going to be on LA 1 at the Intracoastal Canal on Monday.

DOTD is providing details below including when and why the emergency closure is taking place.

EMERGENCY ROAD CLOSURE: LA 1 (Southbound) @ INTRACOASTAL CANAL – LANE CLOSURE WEST BATON ROUGE PARISH

Southbound LA 1 at Intracoastal Canal (Port Allen) in West Baton Rouge Parish, the outside lane will be closed across the entire length of the bridge today Monday, September 20, 2021 from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Closure is necessary while the DOTD bridge crew conducts emergency bridge deck repairs.

This closure is probably going to affect oversized vehicles the most as DOTD explains in the detour information below:

This closure will allow vehicles 12-feet wide or smaller to pass through the construction zone. Road is open for regular traffic but oversized vehicles must detour using I-10 East to LA 22 South to LA 70 West to LA 3089 West to LA 1 North.
