ADDIS, La. (BRPROUD) – A family is lucky to be alive after a fire tore through their two trailers on Sunday night.

The call came in around 6:35 p.m. that a structure was on fire off of First St.

Firefighters arrived in the 4200 block of MYHAND St. and found the trailers fully engulfed in flames.

The homeowner said that “one minute we were watching TV and the next minute we were running for our lives.”

The homeowner says he heard a pop and his daughter went to check outside.

After seeing flames coming through the roof, everyone escaped unharmed from the blaze.

The Louisiana Fire Marshal is working to determine what started the fire on Sunday night.

Multiple local agencies responded to the fire.

Everything appears to be a total loss including three vehicles.
