BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The East Baton Rouge Parish Coroner’s Office was asked to respond to a shooting in the 3900 block of Geronimo Street, according to EMS. The Baton Rouge Police Department said a man was located near the roadway and homicide was notified around 5:15 a.m. That man has been identified as Vernon Mills, Jr., 35. Mills died at the scene after being shot multiple times.
BRPD is still searching for a motive and or suspect in connection with this deadly shooting.
