Organization launches event to thank Louisiana’s essential workers by playing “When the Saints Go Marching In”

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) – 19 Thanks is urging Louisiana residents to fill the air and airwaves with “When the Saints Go Marching In” on Tuesday, May 19 at 7 p.m. to honor essential workers in the state.

“For those of us fortunate enough to be at home during the COVID-19 pandemic, we owe our deepest thanks to all essential workers including those often not considered,” 19 Thanks founder Deborah Sternberg said. “Let’s show our support and make some noise by singing, dancing and celebrating the ‘Saints’ across Louisiana.”

Participants can use the hashtag #19Thanks leading up to the statewide effort to show their appreciation of essential workers.

ExxonMobil, Entergy Louisiana, Hancock Whitney Bank and Regions Bank are supporting this effort, and Gov. John Bel Edwards, Congressman Garret Graves and New Orleans Saints quarterback Drew Brees have given support to the initiative, according to 19 Thanks.
