Pawn shop owner arrested for buying jewelry stolen from nursing home patients

PASCO COUNTY, Fla. (WFLA) – A Pasco pawn shop owner is facing criminal charges after deputies tell us he bought stolen jewelry from a woman last week.

Investigators say Jessica Campbell was an employee at the Atria Assisted Living Facility in Hudson.

She was arrested on May 22 and charged with stealing jewelry from patients.

According to the arrest affidavit, Campbell went to Benjamin Cianfarani’s pawn shop, Your Friend Ben’s Pawn Shop, on U.S. 19 in Hudson.  While there she sold Cianfarani $18,000 worth of jewelry for $300.

After his arrest, Cianfarani told deputies he only bought the jewelry because he felt bad for Campbell.

Cianfarani is now facing charges of dealing in stolen property and acting as a pawnbroker without a license.
