SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Pets matter, which is why we’re joined by a veterinarian from University Veterinary Hospital (UVH) every other week. This week, Dr. Amanda Beck explains the dangers of essential oils for cats.

Although essential oils have become very popular for use among humans they can be dangerous for pets, especially for cats. As Dr. Beck explains, essential oils can be toxic or cats due to the way their liver function would metabolize the oils.

Essential oils can be harmful to cats even when used in a diffuser. Click here more information on best practices and how to spot the signs of essential oil toxicity in cats.
