POINTE COUPEE PARISH, La. (BRPROUD) — The Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office is remembering a K-9 that died on Friday, Feb. 24.
K-9 Jake was assigned to Sgt. Scott Grezaffi, his partner for eight years before retiring, according to police. K-9 Jake assisted the Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office with six criminal apprehensions, 11 searches, locating numerous fugitives and missing persons and uncovered over $200,000 in street-value narcotics and money.
K-9 Jake worked with PCPSO from 2013 until 2021. He reportedly enjoyed his retirement.
According to police, K-9 Jake’s health began to decline as he started to have problems with his hips.
