Police investigating sexual assault, home invasion in Louisiana

COVINGTON, La. (WDSU) — The Covington Police Department is investigating a sexual assault and home invasion that happened Monday in the West 18th Avenue and North Tyler Street area.

Detectives are actively searching for the suspect, described as a short man with a face mask, possibly wearing a light green or dirty white shirt, and dark pants, believed to be riding a bicycle, according to the Covington Police Department.

Anyone in the area who may have seen the suspect, or has video surveillance, is asked to contact the Covington Police Department at 985-892-8500.

The Covington Police Department also has an app called “Covington PD,” which allows citizens to submit tips completely anonymous. The Covington PD app is available for free in the Apple iTunes App Store or Google Play Store.

Tips can also be sent through Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111 where callers always remain anonymous and may earn a cash reward for information leading to an arrest or prosecution.
