Police waiting for DNA results to identify driver killed in fiery crash

Baton Rouge Police detectives said they have to wait for DNA results to identify the person killed in an early morning fiery crash.

Police said the crash happened in the 10400 block of Airline Hwy around 4:40am Thursday morning. The driver of a 2019 Chrysler 300C was traveling southbound on Airline Hwy at a high rate of speed and left the roadway crashing into a traffic light support pole.

The crash caused the Chrysler to ignite, burning the driver. Due to the severity of the fire, detectives were unable to identify the driver and are awaiting DNA results.

This crash is under investigation.
