BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Columbus Day is Monday, October 10.

The federal holiday is being marked less than one month until Election Day.

Voters will go to the polls on Tuesday, November 8, and one of the races on the ballot is U.S. Senator John Kennedy versus Democratic Louisiana Senate candidate Gary Chambers.

In the lead up to Election Day, Chambers has released commercials where he smokes a blunt and delves into “Scars and Bars”.

The latest ad from the Democratic nominee dropped on Columbus Day.

Chambers begins the advertisement by saying, “History repeats itself, especially when we lie about it.”

The Democratic nominee asks the question, “Who do we allow our children to call our heroes?”

Chambers is joined in the commercial by actors who portray a teacher and student.

The student gives what appears to be a presentation and makes comments including those listed below:

  • “Surprise, there were already people there, so I pretended to be their friend, wink, wink.”
  • “I killed as many as I could with diseases that spread throughout the land.”
  • “In 200 years, they won’t tell you I slaughtered an entire race of people to steal their land.”

The teacher is seen praising the student and saying that it was a “wonderful presentation.”

Chambers says again that, “History repeats itself, especially when we lie about it.”

The Democratic nominee concludes the ad by saying, “If kids knew the truth about history, they’d all chose better heroes.”
