Pop-up shop and product showcase helps local businesses affected by the COVID-19 pandemic

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A local beauty aid and enhancement company helped small businesses by providing a platform for them on Saturday.

The platform was a pop-up shop and product showcase at 8844 Greenwell Springs Rd.

From 12 p.m. to 5 p.m., local small businesses were able to show their wares to the public.

The small businesses who took part in today’s event “were not able to
receive assistance through the government assisted Paycheck Protection Program or
loans from the Small Business Administration.”

Those who attended Saturday’s open market saw live entertainment and ate food from local vendors.

“Small business is the backbone of our local economy,” says Coririnthia Vicks, founder and owner of Legacy Lengthz. “You put so much of your heart into it. I know how many of these businesses
feel,” Vicks says. “I just wanted to help them any way that I could and be a blessing.”
