NAPOLEONVILLE, La. (BRPROUD) – Assumption Parish is still dealing with the cold weather and what it has done to their water system.

A precautionary boil water advisory is in effect for residents within the parish boundaries.

Assumption Parish Waterworks says that low pressure is the culprit.

The advisory is in place out of an abundance of caution despite only parts of the parish having to deal with low pressure.

The earliest that the parish will know whether water is useable as normal is Wednesday, December 28.

That is when results are expected from tests on the water quality in the parish.

Assumption Parish Waterworks asks that customers conserve their water usage and search their home for any leaks.

The government organizations says that “every leak repaired offers relief to the demands on the water system.”
