BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The pumpkin patch at Jefferson United Methodist Church in Baton Rouge benefits several charities, including Habitat for Humanity, Hope Ministries, UMC Children’s Home and others.

“It’s our community outreach to help children, the homeless and really give back to others,” said church member Randy Rice.

The patch hours are:

  • 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday – Friday.
  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday.
  • noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

It features more than 2,500 pumpkins.

There will be a special trunk-or-treat event for school-aged kids from 4-6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22.

The church is at 10328 Jefferson Highway, between Bluebonnet and Airline, with the patch located on the ball field behind the sanctuary.
