On Monday, Parish President Clint Cointment made this post on Facebook:
The Administration is in full storm prep operations today. Every storm is different, tropical storm Nicolas could have the potential to create serious issues in our parish. The possibility of 8 to 10 inches of rain should never be taken lightly, although 4 to 5 inches are expected. Our greatest concern is the number of trees and debris in our major channels and ditches. We have simply have not had enough time to clear the obstructions as we continue to recover from hurricane Ida. We have pumped down our channels in anticipation of this event to create capacity for the storm. We will monitor the rain totals to assess areas of concern and remain vigilant throughout this storm. Stay safe, stay informed and God Bless
