Recruits celebrating completion of training at BRFD graduation ceremony


BRFD: The recruits "have also completed classes for Emergency Medical Technician"


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 19 recruits are taking part in a graduation ceremony on Friday morning.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department is holding a graduation ceremony at Zoar Baptist Church.

The recruits come from Baton Rouge, Zachary and the Baton Rouge Airport.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “Thirteen recruits from Baton Rouge, along with five from Zachary and one from Baton Rouge Airport have completed six months of rigorous training at our fire academy.”

The graduation ceremony is scheduled to start at 10 a.m.

BRFD says, “Upon graduation, each of them will have obtained national certifications in Hazardous Materials Awareness, Hazardous Materials Operations, Fire Fighter 1, Fire Fighter II, and Fire Equipment Driver Operator.”

Zoar Baptist Church is located at 11848 Hooper Rd.
