Red Stick Socks help homeless of Baton Rouge

News
Socks are the least donated and most requested item at local homeless shelters in the Baton Rouge area.

Bonfolk, a local boutique and Visit Baton Rouge came up with the idea. This initiative was to help the local homeless while also celebrating the Baton Rouge bicentennial.

Red Stick socks at Studio C were created with a goal in mind.

Damien Boisert said, “We thought that the socks were a good concept because they were Louisiana centric. And she has a mission, and her mission is to help the homeless by giving donation socks for every pair of socks sold.”

Boisert, the owner of Studio C on Government Street says he came across the message on Social Media and decided to sell the socks in his shop.

“When I came across, actually an instagram post, about the Bonfolk socks I inquired with the company about them because it seemed like a good idea,” Boisert said.

Boisert said, “I think its very important that the community gets behind supporting homeless people, people who are less fortunate, supporting the disadvantaged. and so a good way to do that is private people, private companies, starting initiatives they use themselves.”

Each pair of socks is  $20.
