Baton Rouge, La (BRPROUD) Registration is now open for the World War II Museum’s 2nd Annual WWII Challenge; a virtual fundraiser for the national museum in New Orleans.

“With the anniversary of the Battle of the Midway and D-Day, we’re thrilled to partner with the National WWII Museum again to launch a patriotic way to stay active” said WWII Challenge Director Eric Stuart. “Last year’s WWII Challenge was a smashing success for CCC and the National WWII Museum so we’re ecstatic to continue the partnership and the tradition” he said.

This year’s virtual challenge will offer participants the chance to select either the ‘Operation Liberty Road’ courses (100 and 712 mile options) honoring the route allied forces took to liberate France. There is also the ‘Operation Pacific Theatre’ courses (72 and 717 mile options) commemorating the vast accomplishment of securing the Pacific Islands and its islands.

Runners, walkers, joggers and even cyclists can sign up to take on the challenge either individually or as part of a team. Logging mileage started on July 4 and will end on Labor Day, September 6.

Registration for the challenge continues through the end of July. To learn more about the challenge or to register, click here.
