Ascension extends storm debris collection hours

Good news for those that live in Ascension Parish and Iberville Parish as Alligator Bayou Rd. has completely reopened after repairs were completed on the road.

The repairs were necessary after the floods in August 2016.

The Parish of Ascension said, “during the August 2016 flood, a cut was made in the road to drain water into Bayou Manchac.”

According to Ascension Parish, “the cut has been repaired and the road repaved.”

Alligator Bayou Rd. becomes Manchac Rd. in Iberville Parish and the Iberville Parish section is what reopened this week.

“This is a highly populated area of the Parish, and with the opening of the Bluff Road overpass,
we are providing them with much needed traffic relief,” said Matassa. “A special thanks to our
DPW crews for working so smoothly with our neighbors in Iberville Parish.”
