Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Deputies have arrested a man after witnesses say they saw him dragging what looked like a lifeless body down the side of a highway.
Ervin Robinson, 36 of Monroe, has been arrested on one count battery of a dating partner and one count second degree kidnapping.
According to the arrest report, on March 31, 2019, two witnesses said they saw a man dragging what they believed to be a lifeless body from a white Nissan Altima, along the side of highway 139 towards a black Dodge Charger.
Investigation into the registered owner of the Nissan Altima took deputies to Robinson’s residence in Monroe where both he and the victim were located.
The victim said she was trying to drive to her parent’s house in Monroe from Swartz, but Robinson blocked highway 139 with his vehicle causing the victim to pull over onto the shoulder. The victim said Robinson then stopped in front of her, forcibly removed her from her vehicle and dragged her along the roadway before forcing her into his vehicle.
The victim said Robinson then drove them to his residence, where she stayed until deputies arrived.
The victim said she was not able to call for help before deputies arrived because her phone was lefter in her vehicle.
Deputies saw abrasions on the front of the victim’s knees, as well as on her elbow which were all consistent with her story.
In a post Miranda interview, Robinson said the female he had been dragging on the side of the highway was another unknown female, then changed his story by saying the altercation took place between the victim and the other female.
His bond has not yet been set.
