Residents say man snuck in woman’s backyard in Walker

News

A neighborhood is feeling safer tonight after two men were arrested for trespassing onto their property.

This shocking video shows a man trespassing into a woman’s back yard knocking on her door and others in the neighborhood. One resident says he claimed to be an employee for AT&T but drove an unmarked car, didn’t have on a uniform, and had no way to prove he was an employee.

“It just didnt seem to add up and we kept a close eye,” Natalie Bird said.

Hours after the men were asked to leave they came back again ‪at 8:30‬pm.

“They continued to show up at peoples homes and that’s what made it more alarming to us,” Bird said.

The authorities were called and two men were arrested. Authorities say both men were charged with violating Walker’s door to door soliciation ordinance.

Bird says she found out about the men from her neighborhoods facebook group. She says she credits her neighbors and the Walker authorities for making her feel safe.

“There’s a lot of people out here that take care of one and other and we all check on one another,” she said.

Bird says since the men have been arrested she hasn’t seen any more soliticors or suspicious people in the neighborhood.

Captain Sharp, spokesperson for walker police, says the suspects were working for AT&T and the company has been warned in the past.
