BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Santa Claus and his elves will make multiple stops in Louisiana on the Holiday Express train. The Express, formerly known as the KCS Holiday Express, is a six-car train that “runs from Kansas City to Mexico,” according to Tony Cunha, spokesman for CPKC.

Along with seeing Santa Claus, guests can “explore the festively adorned train cars,” for free said Cunha.

The six-car train plans 10 stops in Louisiana and more in Texas and Mississippi. Local stops are 4 p.m. at:

  • LaPlace on Wednesday, Nov. 29.
  • Gonzales, on Thursday, Nov. 30.
  • Baton Rouge on Friday, Dec. 1.

More information including the times and exact locations of the stops can be viewed here.

According to CPKC, “This festive six-car train will continue its charitable tradition with The Salvation Army this year, and has raised over $3.1 million in 22 years.”

The company’s Holiday Train, which features live performances, also will stop on Nov.29 in Shreveport.
