UPDATE: Scotlandville High School will transition back to in-person learning on Thursday, Sept. 15. The school’s E Building will not be in use, as the air and quality continue to be tested and monitored.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A capital area school that experienced recent flooding is transitioning to virtual learning for at least one day, school officials say.

East Baton Rouge (EBR) Schools issued a Sunday (September 11) evening notice, explaining that Scotlandville High School students are not to report to campus Monday, September 12.

Instead, classes will be held virtually on Monday and students should anticipate returning to campus for in-person learning Tuesday, September 13.

The reason for the transition is a plumbing issue that caused flooding in the school’s E Building.

EBR Schools says it will share updates on plumbing repairs as they are carried out.

BRProud is monitoring the situation and will relay these updates over the next few days.
