ADDIS, La. (BRPROUD) – A search is ongoing in West Baton Rouge Parish for vehicle burglary suspects. The Addis Police Department and West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office are leading the search.

This was after the suspects were “involved in several vehicle burglaries that occurred in both Sunset Subdivision and Sugar Mill Subdivision,” according to the Addis Police Department.

Addis PD provided a list of the streets where the vehicle burglaries reportedly took place in each neighborhood.

Sugar Mill: Woodlawn Drive Trial Drive, Tanglewood Drive
Sunset: E. Sunset Loop, Avery Grace Boulevard, Aubrey Ann Drive

Addis PD said they have been investigating since around 4 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 15.

According to the Addis Police Department, at least two shots were fired near officers. This happened while officers were looking into a burglary in the Sugar Mill subdivision, Addis PD said.

A perimeter was set up by law enforcement. Drones and K9s were deployed as the search remains ongoing.

Addis PD said one suspect was seen running south through a wooded area just west of Easy Street in Addis.

The public should keep an eye out for a Black man who was wearing a dark blue hoodie and dark blue sweatpants, according to the Addis Police Department.
