BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — ALDI continues to expand in East Baton Rouge Parish. One store opened in Central earlier this year. A second store will open soon in Baton Rouge, and a second Baton Rouge location will open next year.
The “Baton Rouge store located at 10201 North Rieger Road is opening Dec. 14, and we plan to hold a grand opening ceremony to commemorate the new store,” said Heather McCarthy, Loxley Division Vice President.
McCarthy said they plan for the one at 2345 O’Neal Lane “to open in early 2024.” There will be a grand opening for this location, too.
According to McCarthy, if you have been to the ALDI in Central, the two stores opening in Baton Rouge will look the same. They “will offer grocery pickup and delivery, and guests will have the option to use self-checkout or the traditional checkout process,” she said.
If you want to work at either of the new ALDI locations in Baton Rouge, click here. Each new store will have around 15 to 20 associates, and McCarthy said they “are currently looking to fill part-time store cashier/stocker and full-time store associate positions.”
ALDI is working toward expanding its footprint in Louisiana and the southern United States. The supermarket chain is acquiring around 400 stores that belong to Winn-Dixie and Harveys Supermarket.
For now, an ALDI spokesperson said the chains will operate separately. Some Winn-Dixie stories could be converted to the AlDI format “over the course of several years.”
We will share more details about the grand opening ceremonies for each new ALDI location when they become available.
