Senator Bill Cassidy says Louisianans should take the coronavirus pandemic seriously.
“This is a really significant event” Cassidy said. “This is something where we will all know somebody who dies or maybe know of somebody… but it won’t be like somebody across the world. It will be someone in our community” the Senator said.
Senator Cassidy is expected to vote on a federal coronavirus relief bill that will help provide paid sick leave, among other things, to American workers both insured and uninsured.
“It’s going to affect the individual, the family, the business, all of us” said Cassidy. “That’s what we’re trying to address”.
Cassidy, who is also a medical doctor, says people should adhere to local and federal health officials and practice social distancing for the duration of the pandemic.
“Social distance, social distance” Cassidy said. “Wipe down your surfaces. Sneeze in your sleeve. Get your flu shot. Do all those things that right now you’re thinking is a little paranoid” he said.
