Louisiana U.S. Sen. John Kennedy issued a statement about the Robert Mueller report that was released over the weekend, saying it’s time to move on because the special investigator didn’t find any evidence of collusion within President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.
Kennedy released his statement Monday, speaking out about the conclusion of the investigation.
The Justice Department said Sunday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s investigation did not find evidence that Trump’s campaign “conspired or coordinated” with Russia to influence the 2016 presidential election.
Kennedy said he read the summary of the report from U.S. Attorney General William Barr.
Mueller also investigated whether Trump obstructed justice but did not come to a definitive answer, Barr said in a letter to Congress summarizing Mueller’s report.
