BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park a little before 3 a.m. on Monday, October 17.

“Firefighters arrived on the scene to find fire on the outside wall, and all seven occupants were safe outside,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

Those same firefighters went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, five pumpers and one ladder.

BRFD said, “Firefighters made their way inside, where they found the fire had extended to the attic.”

It took around 20 minutes for firefighters to get the fire under control.

Firefighters “were able to stop the fire from spreading further into the home,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The structure sustained $20,000 in damages.

Fire investigators are still working to figure out what started this early morning fire.

BRPD, EMS, Entergy and The Red Cross assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.

The Sherwood Forest Mobile Home Park is located at 349 S. Flannery Rd.
