BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The St. George Fire Department responded to a reported fire at approximately 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday night.

The structure fire was in the 8200 block of One Calais Ave.

Firefighters arrived at the scene and “reported no smoke or fire visible, but once entry was made, a haze of smoke was observed lining the ceiling of the building,” according to the St. George Fire Department.

The source of the smoke was located and firefighters went to work putting it out.

Firefighters put the fire out in a short amount of time.

Investigators are working to figure out what started the fire.

SGFD says, “There were no injuries to report and no occupants at the time as the building was an office that had been vacated at the end of the work day.”
