Sheriff: Seven charged, including two teens, in Valentine’s Day drive-by murder of pregnant woman

The Pointe Coupee Parish Sheriff’s Office has announced charges against seven people stemming from the deadly shooting of a pregnant woman on Valentine’s Day.

Deputies responded to Russell Lane in Glynn on February 14, 2019. Investigators found 25-year-old Ariel Edwards shot to death inside her home. Her unborn child also died as a result of the shooting.

Friday, Sheriff Bud Torres announced that 19-year-old Treveon Robinson and 22-year-old Andre Griffin were both arrested in Texas by Austin Police as well as US Marshals. Griffin and Robinson will both be extradited to Pointe Coupee Parish to face murder and feticide charges.

Four others were arrested by Pointe Coupee Parish deputies for their alleged involvement in the shooting and the events that happened afterwards.

Detectives arrested 21-year-old Jericho Hamburg and 21-year-old Nicholas Robinson on principal to murder and principal to attempted murder charges. A 16-year-old was also arrested on principal to murder charges.

38-year-old Danielle Claiborne was booked on charges of accessory after the fact to murder and accessory after the fact to feticide.

Pointe Coupee Detectives are still searching for 47-year-old Tonia Robinson. Investigators say she is wanted for her alleged role in helping the suspects after the shooting.

The investigation into the drive-by shooting is still on-going and detectives say more arrests are possible.
