Sheriff: Suspect confesses to killing woman in East Feliciana Parish

EAST FELICIANA PARISH, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) — Sheriff’s deputies claim a suspect has confessed to shooting and killing a woman in her home.

Ernest Howard, 35, was charged with second-degree murder and stalking. He told investigators that he shot 41-year-old LaShan Lacey during an argument Saturday afternoon.

Authorities responded to the shooting at around 4:30 p.m. Saturday at 1210 Cordoba Drive. They pronounced Lacey dead at the scene.

East Feliciana Parish Sheriff Jeff Travis said Howard and Lacey had a prior relationship. The sheriff’s office is treating the shooting as a domestic violence incident.
