HAMMOND, La. (BRPROUD) – A member of the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office has died and his coworkers are in mourning.

Lieutenant Gary Baham worked at the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office for over 30 years.

“There was nothing about a crime scene that he did not know or could not uncover,” says Chief Travis. “Gary was our partner and friend for a better part of 33 years.”

Lieutenant Baham worked at various places during his career including:

  • Lieutenant with the Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office
  • Tangipahoa Parish Coroner’s Office
  • Part-time Reserve Deputy
  • Part-time Deputy Marshal at 7th Ward Marshals Office

“The Tangipahoa Parish Sheriff’s Office is mourning the sudden loss of longtime deputy and friend, Lieutenant Gary Baham,” Sheriff Daniel Edwards says. “There is tremendous sadness among our TPSO family this week. His loss leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts and at the sheriff’s office.”
