Sheriff’s office spokesperson to return to work after “lengthy” suspension

News

The spokeswoman for the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office is expected to be back on the job next week after what the sheriff calls a “lengthy” suspension.

Casey Hicks was arrested for DUI in Alabama back in July.

In a statement, Sheriff Sid Gautreaux said he holds Hicks to the same high standard expected of deputies.

He added six weeks without pay for charges she is not yet convicted is more than sufficient discipline.

Casey Hicks has been with the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office for more than 11 years.

She returns to work on Monday.
