Simple, at-home workouts to try during coronavirus pandemic

News

Public places like movie theatres, casinos and gyms across Louisiana remain closed as officials try to slow the spread of COVID-19 during the coronavirus pandemic. But just because gym facilities are closed, doesn’t mean you have to give up on your fitness goals.

Adrian Francois of Body Style Personal Fitness is offering simple, at-home workouts that can still get you moving.

“A lot of people have things at home they can use that they don’t realize they have at home” said Francois. “Just a pair of dumb bells, resistance bands, maybe a medicine ball… I went on social media and found out that a lot of people have those basic things, so we can really put together a good workout with those things” he said.

Francois says you should think about your workouts using the acronym, WAM; warm-ups, abs and muscles.

“You want to get your core warmed up and your abs” said Francois. “Then you’re going to work your muscles… whatever muscle group you want to work out” he said. “I always say let’s do full body because full body is something that really plays into a functional lifestyle. It kind of hits everything.”
