BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – So this Velvet Hippo, Lab mix loves to play fetch.

Meet Matilda, she is all of 85 pounds and three and a half years old.

As you can see from the video below, Matilda loves to run after tennis balls.

This story is not just about adopting the energetic dog.

A request was put out for tennis balls and someone stepped up to give Matilda a lot of toys to play with so to speak.

The Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge go through a lot of tennis balls because they remain outside and get dirty.

According to the Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge, “one of their followers who works at LSU brought that donation from the tennis team.”

The featured image in this story came with this message on Facebook:

“Wowzerz Matilda! Look how many tennis balls 🎾 you have! All thanks to the LSU Tennis Team! We thank you guys so much!”

If you are interested in adopting Matilda, the Friends of the Animals Baton Rouge provided this description of the energetic dog:

Matilda would do best with older children. Matilda is selective with other dogs, so being an only dog in an active household may be best. She is house trained, sits on command, lays down on command, goes outside and to her bed on command. She is very treat motivated and learns new commands quickly. You can drop by the adoption house this week to meet her and take her in the yard for a game of catch! Apply in person to adopt. (Currently Matilda only comes to the adoption house M-Th).
