Some people frustrated with trash pickup in East Baton Parish say the situation really stinks.
Many are blaming trash company, Republic Services, for a slow response for picking up Hurricane Barry debris.
The company was trashed for slow service before and was given a timetable to clean up its act.
The company says it is in need of more drivers, and they are working towards that.
But, Metro Councilwoman Donna Collins Lewis says the problems with debris cleanup started long before Barry.
Wednesday, the East Baton Rouge Metropolitan Council ok’d a measure to spend up to $1.6 Million in hopes of finishing
debris pickup from Hurricane Barry over the next few weeks.
Dan Mouton owns a rental property off of Nicholson Drive in Baton Rouge. He says he the trash has not been picked up
at his rental home since July 31st.
For now, residents in the area are dumping their garbage on a sidewalk that’s already full of trash.
