Southern University alumnus Harold Carmichael selected for Pro Football Hall of Fame

The NFL network announced Wednesday that Southern University alumnus Harold Carmichael was voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

Carmichael is part of the 15-person Centennial Slate for the Class of 2020, according to the Pro Football Hall of Fame’s website.

Carmichael, who was a wide receiver for the Philadelphia Eagles from 1971 until 1983, spent his final NFL season with the Dallas Cowboys in 1984.

While at Southern University, this well-rounded athlete also played basketball and ran track, according to Southern University System Communications Director Janene Tate.
