The Southern University Division of Student Affairs, the Southern University Foundation and the Southern University Alumni Federation partnered to start an initiative to help students on campus move elsewhere during the COVID-19 outbreak.

Funds from the initiative will provide nominal assistance, such as providing students the gas money they need to drive home to their families, according to SU Communications Director Janene Tate.

Students in need of such nominal assistance can contact the housing support line at (225) 771-4083 or at studentaffairs@subr.edu.

Students who will remain on campus will still receive regular services and meals, Tate wrote.
