The search for the next chancellor-dean for Southern University’s Ag Center is almost complete.
The candidates for the position will be formally presented to the Southern University System Board of Supervisors during its monthly meetings on Friday in Baton Rouge.
On June 28, the search committee presented three finalists for the position to Southern University System President Ray Belton.
After several months in the search process, six candidates were interviewed by the committee and made presentations to faculty, staff and students on Thursday.
The three finalists that will move forward in the process are:
Dr. Calvin Walker, current interim chancellor-dean of the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center/College of Agricultural, Consumer and Family Sciences.
Dr. Andra Johnson, vice chancellor for research and technology development at the Southern University Agricultural Research and Extension Center.
Dr. Orlando F. McMeans, vice president for research public serviceat West Virginia State University.
The Southern University System Board of Supervisors will hold its committee meetings and full board meeting on Friday, July 19 at 9 a.m. All meetings will be held at Southern University Baton Rouge, J.S. Clark Administration Building, Board of Supervisors Meeting Room, 2nd Floor.
