BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) ––– With the storm season already underway, it’s more important than ever to have a community response team! The St. George Fire Department offers several courses to prepare the community to respond to emergencies.

Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training teaches community members how they can help before and after a disaster. The two-day training takes place at the St. George Fire Department, located at 14100 Airline Hwy. and covers Disaster Preparedness, CERT Organization, Disaster Medical Operations, Disaster Psychology, Fire Safety and Utility Controls, and Light Search and Rescue.

Santa Parades are also getting an update this year, making it easier for them to reach every neighborhood. In addition to bringing joy to children throughout the communities, the parades also collect food and toys for St. Vincent De Paul. If you are interested in sponsoring the parades organized by the St. George Fire Department, please see the contact information below.
